An LCD display screen made by the Kopin Corporation has a 600x480 resolution and measures 0.7cm. Developers had to reduce the size of the individual color dots to just 2.9 x 8.7 Ám each to reach this standard - roughly the size of a red blood cell. By comparsion, a human hair is 100 Ám wide.
Kopin aims to develop a 2048 x 2048 resolution display that will be smaller than a typical postage stamp.
